Follow Three Steps to Find Your Calling
The Eastern KY Runway Program is a one-to-one, personalized job training and mentorship program that’s a part of Shaping Our Appalachian Region. Our goal is to equip unemployed and underemployed Eastern KY residents with the job skills and training needed to thrive in the moder workforce. We walk beside you as you discover your path and create your future.
You do the hard work, but you’re not alone. We work with you through setbacks and celebrate your victories with you!
Step 1: Reach Out
It starts with one, simple step: Reach Out. It takes less than 30 seconds to reach out, and you’ll start the most important part of the Eastern Ky Runway Program. A SOAR team member will call you (and email, just in case). Answer the call (or email) and you’re on to the 2nd step!
Step 2: Create a personalized career path and plan
Our team is passionate about your success. We’re here for you every step of the way. Your personal Empowerment Coach on the Shaping Our Appalachian Region team will get to know you so they can guide you through each step. They’ll work closely with you to identify your unique skills, passions, interests, and experiences. If you need additional support, our Peer Mentors are here to support you. You’re not alone. You can do this!
Step 3: Work your plan and find your work
With your empowerment coach and peer mentor by your side, you’ll complete the steps outlined in your career path and plan. We’re not just going to give you an action plan — we’ll hold you accountable to completing the steps. That might mean formal training, or it might mean creating a LinkedIn profile and interview practice. We’ll plug you into the right training so when it’s complete, you’ll be a top candidate for any job for which you apply. And you’ll flourish in your work or job search with access to SOAR’s Talent Network.
