The Eastern Kentucky Runway Program is a one-to-one, personalized job training and mentorship program that’s a part of Shaping Our Appalachian Region. Only residents of Eastern Kentucky can participate, and only highly-qualified residents of Eastern Kentucky can train and mentor. Our goal is to equip unemployed residents with the job skills and training they need to thrive in the modern workforce. You’ll come out of the program ready to apply for your ideal job — where you’ll make a real difference because you’re uniquely fitted and well-trained for it.
Step 1: Talk to us
It starts with one, simple step: Talk to us. In less than the 30 seconds it takes to complete the application, you’ll start the most important part of the Eastern Kentucky Runway Program. Answering our call and replying to our email are all you need to do to move on to the next step.
Step 2: Create a personalized career path and plan
We’re here for you every step of the way: Your personal empowerment coach and peer mentor on the Shaping Our Appalachian Region team will get to know you on a deep level. They’ll always be an email, call, or text away — no ghosting, guaranteed. In fact, they’re passionate about getting you set up for success. They’ll work closely with you to identify your unique skills, passions, interests, and experiences. The resulting long-term career path and plan they create with you will be tailored to your goals and your timeline.
Step 3: Work your plan and find your work
With your empowerment coach and peer mentor by your side, you’ll complete the steps outlined in your career path and plan. We’re not just going to give you an action plan — we’ll hold you accountable to completing the steps. That might mean formal training, or it might mean creating a LinkedIn profile and interview practice. We’ll plug you into the right training so when it’s complete, you’ll be the top candidate for any job for which you apply. And you’ll flourish in your work.
